Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, MLS LEED AP, is the Executive Director of the Mid-Hudson Library System, co-founder of the Sustainable Libraries Initiative, and principal author of the new National Climate Action Strategy for Libraries. The Mid-Hudson Library is a public library consortia with 66 members. Rebekkah is the co-founder and current president of the Sustainable Libraries Initiative, an international project to help create leadership in the profession to co-create libraries and communities that will thrive in the coming years. To this end, Rebekkah is the principal author of both the award-winning Sustainable Library Certification Program and the recently released National Climate Action Strategy for Libraries and Implementation Guide. Rebekkah has written and co-authored several publications, most notably Sustainable Thinking: Ensuring Your Library’s Future in an Uncertain World, Resilience, and Libraries & Sustainability: Programs and Practices for Community Impact for ALA Editions.
