Jennifer Waxman is the Head of Collection Management at Tulane University Library. She received her master’s degree in history and a certificate of archival management from New York University. She served as Vice/Chair of the SAA Preservation Section from 2010-2012. She has consulted for small museums and special libraries and worked as an archivist for research and academic institutions, including the American University in Cairo, NYU Libraries, the Center for Jewish History, the National WWII Museum, and most recently, Tulane University. Currently, Jennifer holds the position of Head of Collection Management with Tulane University Special Collections. Jennifer’s professional focus includes archival processing, collection management, digitization and digital asset management, metadata creation and management, preservation of book and paper materials and audiovisual collections, and emergency preparedness and disaster response. She was a founding member and co-chair of the New Orleans Preservation Coalition and Alliance for Response (NOPC-AfR), and she is currently on the NOPC-AfR steering committee, serving as their Emergency and City Liaison.
